Dreams generally don’t happen overnight. At least not the big ones. The key to bringing them to reality is loving attention and intention. Have you ever noticed that if you apply enough focused attention on any part of your body you may begin to feel a tingly sensation? Awareness creating a magnetizing effect.
This same formula can be applied to your dreams. You want to magnetize any thoughts that have the capacity to fulfill your wishes and begin to disregard the ones that don’t serve you. A process that may take practice, patience and the creation of habitual pattern. Something Henry David Thoreau had intimate knowledge of when he said “As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” Let’s begin to make your dream path.
The dream path
Unlike business plans, dream paths are a lot more fun and much easier to navigate. We simply want to set up a daily habit where you are putting the majority of the attention and intention on wish fulfillment. Establishing a pattern where you consult your dreams before making decisions on what to do. Here’s the way.
1) Write your top three dreams on the top of a small piece of paper or cue card. If you have only one, list that. If you have none, think about what you love to do the most, it may lead you to where you need to go. If not, meditate.
2) Imagine your dreams as being a present reality. Place your written dreams in a place you can view before you go to sleep and when you wake up. These words should be the last thing you see before you close your eyes and as soon as you wake up. Now, begin to practice imagining these dreams as being a present reality today. Feel what it would be like to have your book published. Imagine the feeling of sailing or being in the best shape of your life. Whatever your dream may be, enjoy it now, with your imagination.
3) Do 3 things that can help make your dreams a reality everyday. Every night before you fall asleep, list three things you can start and finish the next morning to help make it reality. Consult this list again when you wake up and edit if any further inspiration has come to you while asleep or from your mediation. Pick one of these tasks that you can start and finish within 60 minutes. Do it, then get up and relax, go for a walk, exercise or do something fun. Repeat throughout the day. This will ensure a feeling of accomplishment, creating momentum that will move you closer to your larger life goals. Remember. One step at a time. Be here now.
Never forget that it’s really right now that counts. Procrastination in dream realization is a curse. The world is filled with talkers. Don’t be one of those. Focus on action. Do yourself a favour: as soon as you finish reading this sentence list the three things you can start and finish today that will be a stepping stone to a fully realized dream idea. Then go do them.
