Krishnamurti, one of my favourite spiritual teachers, once said “Any teacher, any method, any system that says “Do this and you will find truth” is telling you a lie.” Not surprising coming from a man that renounced then dissolved the very organization that was created to prepare the world for his arrival, their presumed messianic entity. Something I imagine Jesus would have done if born into an organized system of belief.
Most of nature’s species, from ants to fish to buffalo to people, seem to have an innate instinct to swarm or herd together. Likely for safety and evolution. But what happens when this animalistic tendency lowers your frequency, thwarting transcendence?
Motivational speaker Jim Rohn famously said that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. And now that we’ve passed the half way point of this 21 day no sh*t talking challenge you may have noticed that there are certain people who are very difficult to be around and not talk negatively. Your “gossip friends” for lack of a better term. If you’re feeling exhausted being in their company it may be a signal to spend some time to yourself or look for a new group of friends that are more inline with who you are today. Don’t be afraid to step away from the pack or go your own way. It might be just what you need.
