I recently enjoyed the Eckhart Tolle Foundation launch, flying in from Portland managing to catch the end of Jack Kornfield’s lecture. Almost immediately after we sat down he asked the audience to make a sacred vow to themselves then write it down. Mine was:

“I vow to follow my heart.”

A task I’d like to pass on to you. If you were to make one vow that would guide the rest of your life what would it be? Contemplate it for a moment then write it down on a piece of paper. Put this sacred paper in your wallet, purse, bedside table, or wherever is convenient and read it every single day. Read it when you don’t know what you should do. Read it when life seems to be falling down around you. Read it until you don’t need to read it anymore.

I’ll leave you with another quote Jack shared from Guillaume Apollinaire with us that really stuck with me:

“Now and then it’s good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.”

I hope you tap into the inner happiness that awaits you today.
