Have you ever been walking down the road and tripped on something you didn’t see? Banged your head on a cupboard that wasn’t there? Knocked over a glass of milk? Normal unavoidable mistakes right? Not necessarily. Whenever I mess up like this, I feel it’s important to take a step back. Review my thoughts. And more often than not, they’re negative loops taking me away from all that really matters. The present.

In a perfect world we’d never make these type of mistakes. Being fully in the moment, our attention would see from a different perspective, at one with our surroundings. Zen or Yoda like. Yet the static chatter of our thoughts seem to mess up this Utopia. And, while we may have a long way to go before we reach our fully realized selves. We can touch it for a moment, then another, with practiced awareness.
